Question
I tried visiting your church last Sunday and the doors were locked. The parking lot was full, I could hear you signing inside, but I couldn’t get in. Yes, I was a little late, but still… what’s up with that?
Answer
I apologize for the inconvenience, but we lock our doors shortly after service starts for safety reasons.
There has been a marked increase in shootings at churches and schools over the past decade, so our elders decided to implement some safety protocols.
We met with local police to get their advice and their first recommendation was to lock the doors during service.
Someone monitors the security camera over the door during service, so if you arrive late next time, just wave at the camera. If you look harmless enough, someone will let you in.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for understanding, and look forward to meeting you next Sunday.
