T RINITY HYMNAL is presented with the prayer that it may supply a recognized need for a truly ecumenical hymnal, theocentric in orientation, biblical in content, and containing suitable hymns for every proper occasion of public and private worship of God.
It has been compiled with the full consciousness that “the acceptable way of worshipping the true God is instituted by himself, and so limited by his own revealed will, that he may not be worshipped according to the imaginations and devices of men … or in any way not prescribed in the holy Scripture” (WCF XXI.1)
