During our early days as a church plant, we depended upon seminary students to come lead worship and preach the Word of God to us each week.
The closest seminary was about three hours away and this made finding pulpit supply a little difficult during the winter months. Mr. McShaffrey chose to brave the weather on this weekend and visited our church for the first time.
The sermon he delivered was entitled “Our God is a Jealous God” (Exodus 34:10-17) and he remembers being encouraged by the commitment and enthusiasm of our small group which, at the time, was meeting in a rented office space behind the local optometrist’s office.
