Believe it or not, countless abortions are being performed in church pews every Sabbath morning.
While the topic of birth control is avoided in most Christian circles, our avoidance and ignorance actually makes us accomplices to the murder of unborn members of our own church.
The Bible teaches that human life begins at the moment of conception (Psalm 139:13-16). Abortifacient forms of birth control are chemically designed to work death after conception has occurred.
Therefore, any Christian who uses such methods of birth control is potentially guilty of murdering their own children and must repent. The types of abortion-causing birth control are:
The Pill
‘The Pill’ actually refers to over 50 types of prescription medication which prevent pregnancy in three different ways:
(1) Prevents ovulation by suppressing the part of the brain which signals for ovulation to begin.
(2) Changes the lining of the cervix to make it more difficult for sperm to pass through and fertilize an egg.
(3) Prevents implantation of a newly conceived human life on the lining of the womb (thereby starving the child to death).
The first two functions of the pill are contraceptive in nature (which means they prevent the fertilization of an egg); but the last function of the pill is abortifacient (which means it destroys a fertilized egg).
The developers of the pill realized that using only the first two mechanisms would allow too many women to become pregnant. That is why they added a chemical which causes the developing baby to starve so that it will die and pass out of the mother’s body.
Conservative estimates state that the pill functions as an abortifacient between two and ten percent of the time.
I.U.D.
The ‘I.U.D.’ is an intra-uterine device which makes the uterus inhospitable to sperm, thus preventing conception.
When conception does occur, the I.U.D. causes inflammation of the womb lining so the child is unable to attach. In such cases, it works as an abortifacient. It is impossible to calculate how often this happens.
Norplant
Norplant is a series of tiny capsules which are implanted under the skin. These capsules work as both a contraceptive and an abortifacient. Norplant works as an abortifacient fifty to sixty five percent of the time.
Depo-Provera
Depo-Provera is an injection which is administered every three months. This injection works as a contraceptive and an abortifacient. It has the same three mechanisms as the pill and is estimated to function as an abortifacient forty to sixty percent of the time.
RU 486
This is an abortion pill which first starves the child to death (through hormone deprivation) and then causes muscular contractions to expel the dead baby.
Morning After Pill
This abortion pill not only inhibits ovulation, but it also interrupts the menstrual cycle and alters the lining of the uterus so that the developing child cannot live.
Conclusion
How can we Christians claim to be pro-life and condemn the doctors of death when we have so much blood on our hands and so many blood stains on our church pews? “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:5)
Search your heart.
Search your purse.
Search your medicine cabinet.
